Serge Batalov writes (10 Feb 2015):
This prime extends the OEIS sequence A246119 (final check that b=192098 is the least base that produces a prime is complete, with all candidates checked once; there will be a double-check in the near future within the PrimeGrid project).

The search for this prime was effected on a small EC2 cloud farm (40 GRID K520 GPUs), at a cost of approximately $1K over ~ three weeks.

Verification data:

The Top 5000 Primes is a list for proven primes only. In order to maintain the integrity of this list, we seek to verify the primality of all submissions.  We are currently unable to check all proofs (ECPP, KP, ...), but we will at least trial divide and PRP check every entry before it is included in the list.
