GIMPS has discovered a new largest known prime number: 282589933-1 (24,862,048 digits)

+ In 1959, C. L. Baker and F. J. Gruenberger prepared a table of prime numbers up to 104395289 that were arranged on microcards. Each of the 124 photographs (except the first and last) displayed 39 pages of 1250 primes.
