Joel was born in Gap, France (in the French Alpes) in August 1967. He attended Ecole Centrale Paris Joel worked one year for IBM, in the French OS/2 developer support department. Then he started working for Apsylog, an ISV whose main software is 'Apsylog Asset Manager', a Windows application to manage Information Technology Assets. He one of top contributors to Woltman's GIMPS project.
