GIMPS has discovered a new largest known prime number: 2^{82589933}1 (24,862,048 digits) The brilliant number 1927 = 41 * 47 = 2^11  11^2. Note also that 1927 is an emirpimes because its reversal 7291 = 23 * 317 is also semiprime. Famous primeresearching mathematicians born in 1927 include Alexander Ivanovich Skopin (19272003) who studied groups of primepower exponent; Yutaka Taniyama (19271958) whose conjecture was central to the proof of Fermat's Last Theorem by Wiles; and John Leslie Britton (19271994) expert on the word problem for groups.
