GIMPS has discovered a new largest known prime number: 2^{82589933}1 (24,862,048 digits) Irreducible modules of compact Lie groups are classified by their highest weight; this weight can be specified by a labelling of the corresponding Dynkin Diagram by nonnegative integers. This number is the smallest dimension of an irreducible E8 module whose highest weight has distinct prime coefficients and which lies between a pair of twin primes. [Rupinski]
