+ (17*10^4885-71)/99 is (as of 27 October 2002) the largest known example of a smoothly undulating palindromic prime. The proof was done using Marcel Martin's Primo which required 2008 hours and 57 minutes on a AMD Athlon 1.33 GHz. The Primo certificate was then validated (an additional 25 hours and 11 minutes) with Cert_Val. [Rosenthal and Martin]
