GIMPS has discovered a new largest known prime number: 282589933-1 (24,862,048 digits)

+ Let R(n)=(10^n-1)/9. As of June 2003, the 26088-digit number (7532*10^14*R(2160)/R(4) + 75753575332572)*R(26088)/R(2174) + 1 was the largest known prime all of whose decimal digits are prime. See NMBRTHRY archives. [Broadhurst]
