GIMPS has discovered a new largest known prime number: 282589933-1 (24,862,048 digits)

+ A Fermat and Lucas PRP consisting of the three numbers 193707721, 2^8233, and 761838257287, separated by three zeros. Note that the first and third numbers are the factors of 2^67-1, which were found by F. N. Cole in 1903. [Earls]
